Two step metal case finished in a gloss Royal blue. Light responsive LED’s automatically turn on at dusk to illuminate the highly reflective ink so the time and instruments which are adjustable to allow for local fine tuning can be read in the dark and off at sunrise. This clock also has a selectable 5-hour timer feature to shut off the LEDs to conserve battery power. The protective glass lens and movement cover are fully gasketed, making the clock weatherproof under any condition. A silent sweep seconds hand (no ticking) smoothly measures the passing minutes. Uses (1) AA battery (for clock) and (4) D batteries for lights, not included. NEW for 2024; Bulova has upgraded the time keeping movement in this clock to better withstand the Summertime heat and keep accurate time. While we never recommend having this product directly exposed to direct sunlight in desert conditions, our new movement has been developed to withstand higher internal temperatures than a Standard Quartz time keeping movement. High Heat Conditions can also affect the battery life.
