The Ekar crankset is the core of the innovative 1x Ekar system, boasting optimized gear ratios evenly distributed across a wide range. Its single chainring offers simplicity, reduced weight, fewer moving parts, and enhanced chain security, making it ideal for gravel riding and racing. The unidirectional carbon fiber cranks feature a robust 630-grade steel alloy axle, balancing strength and lightness, a principle echoed throughout the Ekar groupset. New ProTech technology secures the semi-axles within the bottom bracket using a single, oversized bolt. Large stainless steel bearings on the crank, fixed to the semi-axles, ensure smoothness and durability, and are easily accessible for maintenance. Four ring sizes are available: Adventure (38T), Pure Gravel (40T), Fast Gravel (42T), and eGravel (44T), each with a narrow-wide design for efficient power transfer and maximum chain security. The lightweight, strong 7075 aluminum rings can be easily swapped without disassembling the crank. The four arms, asymmetrically set for optimal torque distribution, have a 123mm Bolt Circle Diameter. The Ekar crankset offers four arm length options 165, 170, 172.5, and 175mm to accommodate various rider sizes and styles. Shorter crank arms can prevent grounding on loose surfaces for gravel bikes with low bottom brackets. A narrow 145.5mm Q-factor ensures comfortable, efficient pedaling. The UD carbon arms come with removable protective end caps to maintain component appearance across diverse terrains.
